One of the fired Han Solo directors has taken to posting cryptic “Star Wars” messages on Twitter
Insert whatever cliched and over-used Star Wars quote you want right here, like, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” or “never tell me the odds” or “don’t get cocky, kid.” The ongoing drama surrounding the upcoming Young Han Solo movie continues, and settle in, because things are getting more and more interesting by the day.
Last week, it was announced that the current directors of the stand-alone Star Wars movie, Chris Miller and Phil Lord, were stepping away from the project. While it hasn’t truly been 100% confirmed, all signs point to them being fired; Ron Howard was brought in to replace them and finish up the last few weeks of shooting the movie, as well as oversee the planned reshoots later this summer.
Got all that? Great. In the days since this was announced — aside from their initial statement — neither Miller nor Lord has said anything else about Han Solo. But the drama level has been like, 11. Miller had a picture of Han as his Twitter header, but just the other day that was replaced and now it appears to be a picture of a drink with a cucumber in it? You do you, Chris Miller.
BUT NOW, he’s actually taken to tweeting again. Get a load of this:

“Situation normal”
To the non-Star Wars obsessed, this just looks like a regular tweet. BUT TO THE STAR WARS OBSESSED, this is actually a Han Solo quote.
In A New Hope, Han and Luke Skywalker break into the Death Star detention center to rescue Princess Leia from the clutches of Darth Vader. After a shootout, Han and Luke have the upper hand, but the Death Star crew has been tipped off on the chaos. Han gets on the communication channel and says:
“Everything is under control. Situation normal…Everything’s perfectly all right now. We’re fine. We’re all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?”
We’ll probably never know exactly what went down behind-the-scenes on the Han Solo movie — let alone what’s happening now. Miller could simply be stating that everything is a-okay, and for him, this situation really is “normal.” He’s going to continue doing what he does best, which is make movies that make us laugh.
Or, this really could be a cryptic shoutout that even more stuff happened before he and Lord stepped away. Han Solo might say that the situation is “normal,” but looking at the Star Wars scene, it’s really anything but normal.
