Banksy’s identity is quite possibly one of the world’s biggest mysteries.

But British drum and base DJ and rapper Goldie may have just accidentally given away his identity.

According to The Sun, the musician was so deep in discussion during a recent podcast interview, that he referred to the renowned street artist by name.

When talking about how people are trying to cash in on Banksy he said: “No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over.”

Goldie has a long friendship with Del Naja. The two were both graffiti artists in Bristol – the UK town where Banksy first emerged – in the late 80s.

For the past 20 years, the elusive street artist has managed to remain anonymous, creating artwork in the dead of the night to avoid being spotted.

However this isn’t the first time Robert Del Naja’s name has cropped up as the possible Banksy.

Last year a journalist spotted the tie to Massive Attack, as artworks continually popped up in the same cities as their gigs.
