The Original Hamilton Cast Reunited on John Krasinski's Show to Surprise This 9-Year-Old

The Original Hamilton Cast Reunited on John Krasinski's Show to Surprise This 9-Year-Old

John Krasinski has been doing his part to spread some positivity while we're participating in social distancing measures by putting together his own talk show Some Good News. But the second episode of his production really took the cake.

Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt appeared together on the latest installment of the show, where they treated a lucky young Hamilton fan to an unprecedented Zoom gathering: an impromptu session with the original Broadway cast.

Krasinski stepped in to make 9-year-old Aubrey's day after she was supposed to go see a Hamilton showing in Jacksonville, FL that unfortunately ended up being canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. It was a disappointing end to her birthday for sure, but she ended up getting something very special out of the experience anyway. What better way to make it up to a heartbroken young girl than to deliver the entire original cast of Hamilton straight to her living room?

Everyone was there: Lin-Manuel Miranda himself, Leslie Odom Jr., Anthony Ramos, Philip Hamilton, David Diggs, Okierete Onaodowan, Phillipa Soo, and Christopher Jackson. Together, they put on an unforgettable performance of the show's opening number "Alexander Hamilton."

Originally, Aubrey's mother had tweeted at Lin-Manuel Miranda that she and her daughter had to stay home watching Mary Poppins Returns instead.

"At least we're safe & healthy," she wrote.

Aubrey was thrilled, of course, by the gesture. And since the Zoom meeting didn't replace the entirety of the show, Krasinski made a promise to the young fan that he would send them to the real Broadway show "when it's all over," referring to the (hopefully) impending end of the coronavirus pandemic.

Now that we've had a taste of the whole cast coming together for an epic Zoom meeting though, we kind of want to see the entirety of the story play out like this.
