Update 20/02/20: Orlando Bloom Fixes His Misspelt Tattoo

Orlando Bloom has confirmed that he fixed the typo of his most recent tattoo.

Last week, the actor showcased a new inking on his forearm which had his son Flynn's name inscribed in morse code.

However, fans were quick to point out that there was a dot missing in the code, leaving it to read as 'Frynn' rather than Flynn.

On Wednesday, Bloom explained that a 'Pinterest fail' had led to the misprint but it had now been rectified by its original artist Balasz Bercsenyi.

'Finally dot it right!' the actor joked. 'How do you make a mistake like that? #pinterestfail (read the small print).'

On his Instagram Stories, Bloom filmed the process, commenting: 'Round 2'ing [sic] it lol'

The star then showed another new tattoo of his dog Sidi, who sadly died last year, along with the pup's name inscribed just below his wrist.

'Fortunately I know how to spell Sidi,' he commented, seeing the funny side of the high-profile error. 'Forever my boy.'

It's a risky move to get a tattoo in a language you are not fluent in.

We can look to examples like Ariana Grande, who instead of '7 Rings' accidentally had 'small charcoal grill' inscribed on her hand in Japanese, or David Beckham back in 2000 who reportedly had a rogue 'h' added into wife Victoria's name when it was inscribed in Hindi.

The latest celebrity to fall prey to this sort of mix-up is Orlando Bloom, who attempted to honour his son Flynn - who he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr - in a large new inking on his arm.

He showcased the tattoo of his son's birth date and then name in Morse code in a post on Instagram. However, after sharing the picture, lots of people commented to explain that the tat actually read as 'Frynn' instead of Flynn.

'Babe you spelt it wrong,' one concerned fan said.

'YOU SPELLED FLYNN WRONG ORLY', said another.

According to these eagle-eyed observers, a dot was missing in the morse code leading to the confusion.

This oversight was later admitted by the tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi, who shared a picture of tattoo conceding: 'yes, a dot is missing, we know, it will be fixed'.

Bloom welcomed his first child with Kerr in January, 2011. Kerr has since gone on to have two more sons with her husband Evan Spiegel, the co-founder of Snapchat, Hart and Myles.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor has also moved on since the couple's seemingly amicable split and is engaged to Katy Perry - who also has a penchant for tattoos - who he has been dating on and off since 2016.
