Outrage at nuclear plant using bikini contest to choose interns

A nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic has caused international outrage after launching a bikini competition to win an internship.

We have no idea what looking good in bikini has to do with working in the plant and it’s left many scratching their heads.

The Temelin Nuclear Power Station got a nuclear reaction to their bizarre recruitment policy and the story has since hit headlines worldwide with many outraged over the "sexist" and "scandalous" scheme.

“Really?? Come on. Ridiculous,” Lindsey posted on the company's Facebook page.

“Is this really the best way to select interns to work at a nuclear power station?” Oliver asked.

The bizarre photoshoot took place in one of the station's cooling towers with the young women wearing next to nothing, and the photos were then posted online for fans to vote for their favourite.

The ten school graduates signed up to the competition and all enjoyed the experience according to the company.

But that did little to stop the backlash.

People were furious calling the competition ‘ignorant and stupid’ and ‘disgusting’.

“You're not serious? I really hope that this is illegal, for someone to have a selection procedure based on their bodies,” Dagmar wrote.

“This is ridiculous. Somebody should get fired,” says Jindra.

“Think about it - the person who OK'd this is in charge of nuclear material... Kind of scary,” Keith observed.

Power station bosses were forced to apologise, saying they didn’t mean to offend anyone.

“The purpose of the competition was to promote technical education. But if the original vision raised doubts or concerns, we are very sorry,” the company said in a statement.
