The Palace Hired a Handsome New PR Dude and Everyone's Thirsting

From Cosmopolitan

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle was photographed attending an under-the-radar lunch with Christian Jones, her brand-new Deputy Communications Secretary. And to put it simply: he's really, really ridiculously good-looking and has magnificent taste in plaid scarves (check out the pics at the link below).

Chances are we'll be seeing more of Christian and his 5 o'clock shadow in the coming months, so it's time to do some digging.

So, Like, What's His Job Even?

Good question! Christian is obviously working for Meghan, but he'll also be working closely with Prince Harry, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton. And while his title is technically "Deputy Communications Secretary"-at least according to his LinkedIn-he's basically in charge of public relations.

It's not surprising that Kensington Palace brought in some new blood to handle press, considering the constant speculation over Meghan and Kate's "feud," and it's clear Christian is already taking the role seriously, as he was seen scribbling away in a notebook during his lunch with Meghan.

The Daily Mail reports that Christian's day-to-day job will consist of liaising with media, and advising the royals on "how to interact" with said media. As of now, they barely interact at all with the exception of allowing royal reporters to attend their engagements, so this should be interesting!

He's Extremely Qualified...But Kinda Controversial

Before working for the royals, Christian worked for the British Government: first as the Chief Press Officer at the Treasury from 2014-2016, and then as a speechwriter for the Department for Exiting the European Union.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Christian himself is pro-Brexit, but some royal watchers are surprised by what they consider a pretty conservative hire:

All I'll say is that Noah Centineo can step to the left.
