“The Perfect Couple ”Has Us Dying for a Blackberry Mojito — Get the Recipe
These berry-filled cocktails are flowing before an extravagant wedding turns into a who-done-it mystery in Netflix's new limited-series
The Winbury family might not be as perfect as they seem, but their drinks are.
Netflix’s new star-studded series The Perfect Couple follows an extravagant Nantucket, Mass. wedding gone awry when a body washes up on the property just hours before the nuptials. But before the picturesque family is taken from their seaside estate, Summerland, and into interrogation rooms, they enjoy some pre-wedding festivities with blackberry mojitos.
The first episode of the six-episode series — based on The New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand's novel by the same name — sees wedding guests arriving to the beachy mansion owned by Tag and Greer Winbury (played by Liev Schreiber and Nicole Kidman).
After bride-to-be Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), picks up her parents from the ferry, they are quickly greeted by the groom, Benji Winbury (Billy Howle), Tag, Greer and the rest of the posh crew.
The culture clash kicks off right away. The Sacks bring the Winburys a plastic-wrapped fruit basket, which Kidman’s character accepts but holds tentatively.
Tag asks Amelia’s father, Bruce, if he plays golf but Bruce answers that he does not. Karen, Amelia’s mother, replies, “Well, you could probably pick it up, hon. I mean he’s really athletic.” Greer responds under her breath, “I don’t think it’s something you pick up.”
The moment of tension is interrupted by the youngest Winbury child, Will.
“Here we have a light refreshment,” he begins, carrying a tray of cocktails.

“Oh wow, it’s like a hotel!” one of the Sacks excitedly responds.
“We made uh blackberry martinis,” Will continues, passing around the drinks.
“It’s a mojito,” Tag interjects. “It’s kind of like a wine cooler but better.”

“It’s nothing like a wine cooler,” says the eldest Winbury son Tommy (Jack Reynor). Tag snaps: “Shut up, Tommy."
The squabbling is cut short as the blended family sips on their berry-filled cocktails and poses for a photo in front of the beachside home.
The tension never subsides as this fairytale wedding turns into a who-done-it story. But if you are looking to get into the spirit of the series, this big batch version of blackberry mojitos — shared in PEOPLE's sister publication Southern Living — is perfect for a watch party.
