'I pick the team on penis size' - Female coach's brilliant response to ill-judged question
The only female coach in the top five tiers of German football had a fantastic response to a journalist’s ill-judged question during an interview.
Imke Wübbenhorst became the first female coach in the top five tiers when she was appointed BV Cloppenburg boss in December.
She is yet to oversee her first game, with the winter break currently taking place in Germany, but will have her work cut out trying to lift Cloppenburg from the bottom of the Oberliga Niedersachsen, one of the country’s 14 fifth tier leagues.

When asked by German newspaper Welt how she dealt with walking into the locker room, and if she had to make sure her players were covered up, she had a brilliant riposte.
“Of course not. I’m a professional. I pick the team on penis size,” Wübbenhorst said, leaving the journalist in no doubt that he had crossed the line.
She has been working in coaching at the club she played for since retiring in 2016, and that has seen her earn her chance at the main job.
While plenty of male coaches are employed in the women’s game, there is yet to be a female employed at the top level of the men’s game.
