A Popular Aldi Salad Dressing Is Being Recalled Due To Contamination

Select batches of Aldi salad dressings are being recalled due to a processing area which may have left the products vulnerable to contamination. The Aldi Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing is the item in question, so check your pantries if you picked up a bottle on a recent grocery run.

The announcement, shared by the Food & Drug Administration, recalled one lot code of Aldi's poppy seed dressing manufactured by Drew's Organics, LLC of Chester, VT. A processing issue that could allow for microbial growth was noted as the reason for the recall. Bottles of the dressing come in 12 fluid ounce quantities with the "Best If Used By" date of February 15, 2023, and the UPC number #4099100023169. This number can be found on the shoulder of the dressing bottle right above the label.

Potentially contaminated products were sent to Aldi stores between August 20 and September 10 across the United States. Namely, Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia are among the states the Simply Nature Organic Poppy Seed Dressing was distributed to.

This recall was announced after Drew Organics noticed a color difference in some bottles and tests revealed potential traces of Clostridium botulinum, a toxic bacteria. If you have the affected dressing bottles in your possession, dispose of them immediately without consuming or return it to the site of purchase for a full refund. At this time, no other Aldi salad products are affected.
