Power Book II: Ghost Season 4: Everything We Know So Far
It’s been a while since we’ve been in the big, rich town that Tariq St. Patrick — and rest of Power Book II: Ghost‘s characters — inhabit. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been eagerly gathering information in advance of the Starz series’ upcoming Season 4.

Power Prequel Series in the Works at Starz, Will Chronicle Origins of Ghost and Tommy
Fans of the show will recall that Tariq ignored his mother’s and Tommy’s advice and essentially started a war at the end of Season 3. He approached Noma about a business partnership but soon learned the hard way that she’d already teamed up with Effie and the Tejada kids. Cue the brutal shootout!
Now that you’re caught up on the chaos, read on for everything we know about the upcoming fourth season!
How did Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 end?
In the Season 3 finale, we learned that Diana Tejada — and not her mother, Monet — made it possible for Tommy to find (and potentially kill) Tariq’s mom, Tasha. But Tommy lets Tariq know that it’s all good: Tommy and Tasha finally worked through the issues stemming from when she killed his fiancée, LaKeisha, during Power Season 6.
Though Tommy warned Tariq against going after Monet, the teen didn’t listen. So when Diana came to ‘Riq and offered to help him take out her mother, he agreed. But then Tasha interfered by pulling off a drive-by shooting on Monet. And when a vengeance-seeking Cane asked Diana if she saw who shot their mom, she said it was Tariq. (Cane didn’t know, however, that Dru and Diana had been plotting to destroy their mother the whole time.)
Tariq regrouped and tried to forge a new business partnership with Noma, but quickly learned that Cane, Diana, Dru and Effie were working with her instead. In the shootout that followed, only Brayden had Tariq’s back. (Read a full finale recap here.)
Which cast members are returning for Power Book II: Ghost Season 4?

Blige as Monet Tejada, Method Man as Davis MacLean, LaToya Tonodeo as Diana Tejada, Woody McClain as Cane Tejada, Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada, Gianni Paolo as Brayden Weston, Alix Lapri as Effie Morales, Caroline Chikezie as Noma, Larenz Tate as Rashad Tate, Paton Ashbrook as Jenny Sullivan, Lauren Baldwin as Paige Hurd, Keesha Sharp as Harper Bennett and Monique Curnen as Blanca Rodriguez.
Is Season 4 the last for Power Book II: Ghost?
Sadly, yes: In March, Starz announced that Season 4 of Power Book II: Ghost would be the series’ swan song.
Are any new actors joining the cast for Season 4?
Michael Ealy (Being Mary Jane, Almost Human) will join the Starz series in Season 4 in the series-regular role of Det. Don Carter. Per the official character description, Carter is “a rising NYPD officer who was on track to become police commissioner until his wife was killed in a crossfire between rival drug gangs.” Now haunted by his loss, and “vowing to make the streets safer, Carter traded in his tie for a Kevlar vest and now leads an elite NYPD drug task force that elicits concrete results against drug-related violence.”
When will Season 4 be released?
The final season will be split into two parts, the first of which debuts on Friday, June 7 at 8/7c, with the second half kicking off on Friday, Sept. 6, at 8 pm.
