Kate Middleton criticised for going off-roading while pregnant

She may be four months pregnant but that didn’t stop Kate Middleton from taking on a 4X4 off-roading challenge yesterday.

The 35-year-old Duchess of Cambridge was visiting the Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull Manufacturing Plant in Birmingham with Prince William when she decided to get behind the wheel.

Despite the activity not being recommended for pregnant women, Kate took to the challenge like a pro, with Prince William looking on from the sidelines.

And while her husband may have been smiling at her braveness, people on Twitter weren’t impressed with the Duchess.

“Woah this breaks quite a few myths about pregnancy,” one person said.

“Holy moly... I wouldn't want to attempt that,” another person commenter, while another replied: “Esp. being pregnant”.

On the manufacturing plan’s website, it claims the terrain, which looks quite rocky in the above video, may not be suitable for expectant mothers.

"We would therefore recommend that you do not participate in the Driving Experience if you suffer from back problems, heart problems (or any similar conditions or are pregnant),” it says.

Howeverm Kate was in good hands and was joined in the car by lead instructor and head of global drives David Sneath, who helped her navigate her way through the course.

Just before they took to the challenge, Kate and Wills met with some of the 10,000 employees at the plant.
