All In! Games' Metamorphosis offers a unique opportunity: the chance to use the term kafkaesque without being pretentious. Inspired by the dark, quirky and often funny world and imagination of Franz Kafka, Metamorphosis places the player in the role of Gregor Samsa, who of course awoke one morning from troubled dreams to find himself changed into a monstrous cockroach. From there, he must venture out to solve the mystery of his transformation and rescue his friend Joseph, who has been arrested for reasons unknown (an homage to Kafka's The Trial). Combining platform puzzles with absurdist existentialism, Metamorphosis is a fun and challenging game that rewards the literary minded.

Whether we mean to or not, we leave so much of ourselves in our phones, a portable record of both who we are and who we pretend to be. That's the idea probed in A Normal Lost Phone, a 2017 puzzle game that presents you the player with a lost phone, originally belonging to an owner first identified as Sam. Through messages, images and more, the player discovers secrets, mysteries and revelations about the life of the original owner, both subtle and soap-operatic.

The successor to A Normal Lost Phone, Another Lost Phone: Laura's Story is both a new story in the Lost Phone franchise and an opportunity from the design team to rectify what they felt were "design flaws" in the original installation. Those redesigns paid off, as Another Lost Phone: Laura's Story was nominated for Best Mobile Game and Best Screenplay, and won the Special Jury Prize, at the 2017 Ping Awards. Dive back into the depths of the digital world with the story of Laura, a young woman who doesn't know whom to trust after suffering a horrific workplace ordeal.
