Prince Harry leaves royal family 'absolutely furious': 'Very frosty'

Prince Harry reportedly has the royal family "absolutely furious" with him, according to a royal expert.

The Mirror's royal correspondent Russell Myers appeared on the Today show to speak about the relationship between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the rest of the royal family.

"Harry was giving an interview just a couple of weeks ago when he was at the Invictus Games," Russell said. "It was all, sort of, bizarre language, he was there to protect the Queen and these things are not going down too well.

"If it [their relationship] is to be repaired, then there needs to be a bit more water under the bridge".

Richard and Russell agreed that the pair may be trying to "have their cake and eat it too".

"If Harry’s looking for some, sort of, piecemeal then he was a long way off that," Russell added. "The people I speak to, the Palace every day, who [are] obviously very well connected with the top players, as it were. They are still absolutely furious."

"You can’t go on, you know, international television interview with Oprah Winfrey, complaining about your treatment with the family and then wanting to sit down with them when you’re still giving interviews," he added.

It comes after reports that an investigation into Meghan Markle’s alleged bullying of Buckingham Palace staff was "buried".

When allegations of bullying within the Palace came to light, the Queen was quick to commission the investigation last March, however, sources have told The Times that the findings will never be released as the inquiry was "buried".

As reported by the publication, the investigation was completed by an independent law firm and funded privately by the Queen.

Buckingham Palace is keeping the investigation secret partly to protect the privacy of the participants, and also to keep the relationship between the royal family and the Sussexes civil. This move to keep the findings under wraps has deeply disappointed some participants.

The Times previously reported that the Duchess of Sussex had made royal staffers cry and revealed that a bullying complaint had been laid against Meghan. The publication alleged that a royal aide told a colleague, “I can’t stop shaking,” while waiting for the Duchess to confront them.

Another aide added that Meghan had “humiliated” them, while a third told The Times that it felt more like “emotional cruelty and manipulation”.

Meghan’s spokesperson shot the bullying claims down last year, saying the Duchess was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself.”
