William's intervention in Harry's marriage caused 'bitter explosion'
Prince William reportedly asked his uncle Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, to stop Prince Harry from rushing into marriage with Meghan Markle according to a new book.
The Duke of Cambridge reportedly reached out to his uncle following "brusque" and "peppery reactions" to his attempts at talking with his younger brother, reports The Sun.
Harry, unsurprisingly, was left unimpressed by William's interference in his relationship.
"The result of the Spencer intervention was an even more bitter explosion," reveals Battle Of The Brothers: William, Harry and the Inside Story of a Family in Tumult author Robert Lacey.
"Once again Harry refused to slow down. He didn’t blame his uncle. He understood why Diana’s brother should want to help.

The book also claims the brothers "cut contact for two months" after Harry and Meghan moved to the US.
Battle of Brothers looks into Harry and William's relationship from childhood to present day with author Robert claiming to have sources who are very close to the royals. Including one "high level insider" who has never spoken about Harry and William's feud before, according to Tatler.
The book also claims Harry went into therapy "at his older brother's suggestion".
It also makes claims Cressida Bonas, Harry's ex-girlfriend, thought he was "a damaged and self-obsessed young man".
The book alleges Cressida told friends Harry would "rant and complain about paparazzi lurking where clearly there were none".
It comes after reports Harry and Meghan are planning on spending Christmas in the US as the Duke of Sussex is "not ready" to return to the UK.
It will be the second year the couple have skipped the traditional Sandringham Christmas celebrations, instead hosting their own get together at their home.
"At this stage they are really enjoying their new life in California and their new home," a source told Katie Nicholl for Vanity Fair, also hinting a the supposed strained relationship between Harry and brother Prince William.
"Let's just say that while things are better between Harry and his brother, it's not what it was, and I don't think anyone is ready for a cozy family Christmas right now."
Instead the Sussexes are set to host their own Christmas in LA and plan on inviting his 'surrogate' dad, Canadian record producer David Foster, and his wife Katharine McPhee, according to The Mirror.
David and Katherine, who knows the Duchess of Sussex from their high school days in LA, offered to host the festivities at their home, but Meghan volunteered.
“Meghan very much wants to host the first Christmas at their new home with her mum,” a source claimed.
“She’s really excited and is planning on doing all the traditions she grew up with as a child, including the cooking.”
Harry and Meghan had already missed the traditional royal Christmas celebrations in 2019, choosing instead to spend the festive season with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland in the US.
At the time a statement issued by the Palace said the decision “has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”
Though at the time some royal experts called the move ‘telling and worrying’.
