Despite being the daughter of Kate Middleton and Prince William, who is second in line to the throne, Princess Charlotte has a relatively normal sounding childhood, along with her two brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis. Whilst the Cambridge family do tend to keep a lot of their home life private, every now and then William or Kate will let slip what their children are up to – and it sounds as though little Charlotte has quite the array of talents.
Unsurprisingly, the young Princess is apparently big into horses (much like her great-grandmother, the Queen) and is already a talented rider – but that's certainly not all. During a visit to Ireland back in 2020, Kate revealed that her only daughter also has a real passion - and flair - for gymnastics!
"Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she's doing cartwheels, handstands, everything," the Duchess of Cambridge said [via Entertainment Daily] during a visit that saw her and the Duke meet a bunch of circus performers. "It's so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination."
To this Prince William added, "And their flexibility, it’s really good for their long-term health, isn't it? We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing."
Recently, Charlotte celebrated her seventh birthday, which meant royal fans were treated to two new portraits of her (with one featuring a canine pal) in a field of bluebells, taken by none other than Kate Middleton herself (the Duchess is known to be a keen photographer and to enjoy capturing special family moments herself, which also affords them a greater degree of privacy).
Commenting underneath the snaps on social media, many followers of the Duke and Duchess' account also pointed out the adorable similarities between Charlotte and Prince William too, noting that at this point, she's basically his double:
Who knows, perhaps Charlotte might end up taking after William's cousin, Zara Tindall, at compete at an Olympic level one day?
