Princess Eugenie is pregnant!
Two reasons to celebrate today: not only is it Friday, but also Princess Eugenie is pregnant! Hooray!
The happy news was announced this morning (25 September) on social media by the official royal family account, with a post that read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021."
The Instagram post, which was shared alongside a sweet photo of Princess Eugenie and husband Jack on their wedding day, continued, "The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news."
And so are we! It's about time we had some nice, cheery royal news.
As you can see from the announcement, details are currently fairly sparse about the exact due date of the next royal baby; all we know at the moment is that we'll be welcoming him or her into the world "early" next year. But that's actually in keeping with the royal tradition, which never sees a specific date released. With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's baby, Archie, the announcement said he was due in "spring 2019" and the same went with Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest, Prince Louis.

Although there's always speculation that a recently-married royal woman of child-bearing age is expecting, earlier this summer there were some specific rumour mills churning that there might be a baby Brooksbank on the way. Princess Eugenie was pictured with Jack up in Scotland, visiting her grandmother the Queen on the Balmoral estate, and the photos led to some wondering whether she might have a baby on the way.
In the pictures, Princess Eugenie can be seen wearing a green overcoat with black leggings, and she's carrying an orange parcel that looks to be a gift for her grandmother. But over in the comments, followers were reading into what they could see.
Remarks like "I think Eugenie is pregnant," and "Eugenie. Hmmm. Is that just her coat?" came in thick and fast. And it seems they were right!
So congratulations, Eugenie and Jack. We're SO excited to have another royal baby on the way.
