A new public health clinic is set to open Wednesday in Kitchener.

The clinic will be run by Region of Waterloo Public Health and to start, will offer appointments for vaccines and sexual health services to the public. In the future, the clinic is expected to offer dental screening and baby feeding appointments.

The clinic will be located on the second floor of the regionally owned building and will include six clinic rooms.

Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, the region's medical officer of health, said in a news release that the "central location" of the clinic will provide "easy access to important health services."

Regional Chair Karen Redman said in the same release that the clinic "is a testament to the work the region does to provide residents access to service in spaces and places that fit their needs."

Public health already operates clinics at 150 Main St. in Cambridge and 99 Regina St. S. in Waterloo.
