Hello! Did you have a lovely long Easter weekend break? Well, it sure looks like Her Majesty The Queen did, as she's absolutely beaming in a new series of royal family photos that have been shared with the public to celebrate the holiday.
The pictures were taken in the grounds of Frogmore House in Windsor, which look rather resplendent with daffodils and cherry blossom in full bloom, and feature Queen Elizabeth II taking a stroll with her eldest son, the future king, Prince Charles. Although the pair do not live together, walking outside with a member of another household is permitted, so fear not - everything was within COVID-19 rules.
Speaking about the honour of being able to capture this special day for the royals, photographer Chris Jackson (who has worked with the royals for almost two decades) said that it felt "especially poignant" given the pandemic, which has seen so many separated from their loved ones.
Writing on Instagram, Jackson said: "Very special to take these photographs of HM The Queen and HRH The Prince of Wales in the stunning and historic grounds of Frogmore House in Windsor that have been released tonight. It feels especially poignant as hopefully we will ALL be seeing a bit more of out families over the coming days and weeks 🙏🏻 - Have a lovely Easter everyone! 🐣 🇬🇧"
A second photograph was also shared, again showing the Queen and Charles outside enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Naturally, royal fans were quick to share their joy in seeing the photos, with one writing, "Family, flowers and #Frogmore! And our beloved Queen and Heir."
Another added that it was nice to see the Queen looking more casual than she would be whilst working, "I've been staring and trying to figure out what's different about the queen," they wrote. "She doesn't have her handbag with her and her hands are in her pockets. She's adorable!"
A third chimed in with, "That is a wonderful happy Mother and Son photo, amongst the cheerful spring daffodils! Just lovely 💙"
Over at Camp Cambridge, no photos have been shared of Prince William, Kate Middleton or their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis, over the Easter period but their Instagram account did share a fun video of a chocolate egg being smashed and then reforming. It was accompanied by the message "Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter 🐣."
Here's hoping that this time next year all the royals (and all families across the UK in general) will be able to safely meet for a bigger celebration!
