The Queen Made Hilarious Remarks At Princess Eugenie's Wedding

From ELLE

The Queen entertained guests at Princess Eugenie's 2018 wedding with her self-deprecating humour, according to attendee Pixie Geldof.

The model and singer also revealed that Her Majesty was very welcoming to guests at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, where Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank during a lavish ceremony in October two years ago.

Speaking to fashion designer Henry Holland on his podcast What Were You Thinking?, Geldof recalled: 'The Queen was walking around and she was saying things like "well, it's great that I have a house big enough that I can hold all these guests" and things like that.

'Like she's full LOL. Like she was being funny, which I'm obsessed with. And she was being like, "welcome to my home." It's amazing.'

Geldof admitted she was disappointed to not officially meet the monarch, but was amused to discover that Eugenie refers to Her Majesty as 'granny'.

'I didn't [get to meet the Queen] and I'm fuming, but also it really makes me laugh because Eug will say things like, "yeah, I know Granny," and I'm like, "the Queen, so, but granny!" I guess she's the nation's granny really. But no, I didn't meet her,' she added.

Princess Eugenie's wedding reception was held at Royal Lodge in Windsor, which is the Yorks' family home. A post-wedding lunch was hosted by the Queen on the evening of the ceremony.

The 30-year-old royal wore a beautiful white, V-neck gown designed by London Fashion Week favourite Peter Pilotto, and a Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara loaned by the Queen. The couple invited 1,200 members of the public into the grounds of Windsor Castle to take in the atmosphere on their big day.

Celebrity guests also included Cara Delevingne, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and daughter Lila Grace, Liv Tyler, and Demi Moore.
