The Queen's subtle tribute to Meghan and Harry
The Queen attended the preview of the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday with many other members of the royal family.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex however were not present at the event, as Meghan gave birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6.
But the Queen appeared to pay a subtle tribute to one of her favourite grandchildren through her outfit choice.
The monarch wore the same floral printed dress and lime coat by Stewart Parvin to the flower show, that she donned for Meghan and Harry’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in May last year.
Her Majesty, 93, has been Patron of The Royal Horticultural Society since 1952 and has attended the flower show almost every year.
During her visit, the Queen was given a tour of the Kate’s ‘Back to Nature’ garden she co-designed with Andree Davies and Adam White.
The Queen’s sons Prince Edward and Prince Andrew were also in attendance, as were Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Beatrice, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
It’s been said that the Queen and her grandson, Harry, have always had a close relationship and he often makes her laugh in public.
The pair were spotted having a moment together at Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston’s wedding on Saturday.
While Meghan is expected to remain on maternity leave for the summer, Harry has still been carrying out engagements.
Earlier this month, the duke travelled to The Hague in the Netherlands to launch the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games. He also spent the day in Oxford, where he visited a children’s hospital.
