Rebel Wilson tears up after surprising best friend with kind deed
Rebel Wilson has shown that she can not only bring the laughs but also the tears after treating her best friend and stylist to a well-deserved backyard renovation.
The Pitch Perfect star teamed up with celeb DIYers the ‘Property Brothers’ aka Drew and Jonathon Scott to transform Nicole Leal’s dismal space behind her Los Angeles home.
The incredible reno was captured in an episode of HGTV’s Celebrity IOU in which famous folks such as Rebel, Brad Pitt and Jeremy Renner give back to their friends, family or people they’ve worked with during their careers.
The epic end result —which was unveiled on US TV back in May but aired in Australia on Monday night — left both the Aussie actor and her pal sobbing.
Rebel and Nicole became firm friends after meeting when Nicole was brought on to style Rebel’s hair on films such as Pitch Perfect and Bridesmaids.

According to Rebel, Nicole was her ‘first American friend’ and is ‘really chill’ unlike the ‘crazies’ she tends to meet in Hollywood.
Nicole also had nice things to say about Rebel, who she now considers as part of her family.
“Even with as much stardom that she’s gone through over the years, she’s still the same person,” Nicole said.
Rebel explained the motivation behind her kind deed was all about ‘giving back’ to her friend.
“She saved up all her money to buy this house and has nothing left for the outside. To give back to her in this way is just incredible,” she said.
The 40-year-old was prepared to get down and dirty during the reno, picking up a jackhammer and even jumping into a Bobcat to do some excavation work.
When it was time to unveil Nicole’s new backyard — which featured a paved outdoor BBQ and dining area as well as a fireplace and TV — Rebel was overcome with emotion and openly broke down.
“I am so grateful and appreciative, I can't even find the words, it means a lot,” an equally teary Nicole added.
