You know when fabulous moments from pop culture history randomly pop into your head and you just think 'Ah, better write that one down for future generations!'? Same. Anyway, here's an iconic tidbit that seems to have gone largely unnoticed: back in 2012, The Queen allegedly stopped Kim Kardashian from staying in a London hotel.

Yep, according to Scott Disick, in Series 7, Episode 10 'The Royal Treatment' of the family's reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, this is a real life thing that happened. In the show, there's a scene where Scott visits Kim's brother Rob in his hotel room and says, "I thought we were staying at The Dorchester... why are we staying here?" to which Rob responds, "Because The Queen is staying at The Dorchester and she doesn't want Kim there."

Of course there are multiple reasons as to why this could have been the case. Was it so that Her Majesty had to be the most stylish woman in the building? (Come on, you know you're desperate for a wardrobe of co-ordinated hats, coats and umbrellas like the Queen). Or perhaps it was because the monarch simply fancied going make-up free that day and couldn't be bothered with the paparazzi that following Kim around? Either or.

In the episode, Scott also gives his own take on the situation saying, "Initially we were going to be staying at The Dorchester but evidently The Queen happened to just wanna shut it down. It's pretty impressive that one woman could shut down a whole hotel, just because she wants to be there."

All jokes aside, our theory is that The Queen (if the story is to be believed) was likely concerned for security reasons. Nonetheless, in the name of journalism, Cosmopolitan UK contacted The Dorchester to ask for clarification on the matter. Sadly they declined to shed much light on the subject, only saying: "Unfortunately, in the interest of guest discretion The Dorchester wouldn’t be able to comment on this." Which is fair enough, really.

Maybe as an olive branch, Kim could offer Her Majesty the opportunity to collaborate on a new palette? It could be called Two Queens, or something of the like (or not? Sorry, this is why I don't work in branding). Now that's something we'd love to see.
