Reveler at NYC Dominican Day Parade jumps on car, stabs driver, NYPD says

NEW YORK — A reveler at the Dominican Day Parade in Midtown was busted for stabbing a 65-year-old man who objected to the suspect jumping on his car, police said Monday.

Joshua Canero, 20, is charged with felony assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Police say Canero, who had attended the parade on Sixth Ave., jumped on the victim’s vehicle in celebration near 45th St. and Eighth Ave. about 2:35 p.m. Sunday, sparking an argument.

As the quarrel escalated, Canero allegedly swung a knife at the angry driver, cutting him on the face, left ear and right hand.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai West in stable condition.
