Rihanna, supremely wealthy businesswoman and pop star, is going big for her 32nd birthday. E! got details about the party Rihanna had last night during her birthday getaway in Mexico, because of course RiRi had the fête abroad in some place warm: Why freeze in New York City or London when you can dance in the heat with mariachis?

It was a grand ol' time, a source told the outlet, and it's not over yet. "Rihanna is having a birthday celebration in Mexico," the source said. "She invited her friends and family down to celebrate turning 32 with her. They had a dinner party on Wednesday night with dinner and dancing. Everyone was welcomed to the party with a line of mariachis performing and tequila shots passed around."

The decor was also on point, the source continued. "There were balloon arrangements, colorful flowers and Mexican decor both indoors and outdoors," the source said. "They had a long outdoor table set up for dinner and the mariachis continued to perform."

After dinner, the dance party started and didn't end until morning. "They partied all night long with music, drinks, a birthday cake and cupcakes for Rihanna," the source said. And RiRi was thriving: "She was in her element with the people she loves and having a great time." The singer "danced and sang all night [with a] big smile on her face."

Some videos have surfaced online that guests took of Rihanna at the bash:

The singer and beauty mogul hasn't posted any content from the trip yet, which comes shortly after her reported breakup from billionaire boyfriend Hassan Jameel. It also comes after Rihanna launched her Fenty collection at Bergdorf Goodman during New York Fashion Week.

In an interview with ELLE.com at that event, she reflected on how fame has affected her freedom.

"Oh my god, yeah, it's true that my job puts me in very strange situations," she said. "And in this job, you actually lose more freedom than you gain. I think a lot of people have it messed up with the whole 'Once you’re famous, you get everything for free; you get in everywhere; you get to go to whatever party or awards ceremony.' And a lot of that is true, I’ll admit. But it's never something I've demanded. Believe me, I’ll stand in line to get into a club! I’ll pay [full] price for anything! I’ll do anything if it means I can have a little bit of life that’s just for me. Just a little bit is all I need. Like, let me go to the grocery store once. You know?"

Rihanna continued: "Those things you minimize in your ordinary life, you don’t realize how much they mean to you when you don’t have that freedom to do that, or the flexibility to do it, in peace. And it’s difficult, you know? It’s a double-edged sword. Because I enjoy what I do, but yeah, fame makes a lot of things easier, but it does make life more difficult."
