Rita Ora reveals she's frozen her eggs 'to be safe'
She's dated a string of high profile men, but like many women, Rita Ora still hasn't found 'The One.'
Now the Your Song singer has opened up about her desire to start a "big family", revealing she's frozen her eggs to buy her time until she meets the right partner.
Talking on Sunrise, the 26-year-old British popstar made the raw revelation as part of a panel discussing single women who have turned to IVF in a bid to become a mother rather than wait for a potential partner and risk time running out on their biological clocks.
"Well I think it's amazing the technology that we have to kind of really take control of our own destinies," Rita said, adding she thought about the somewhat taboo topic while she was in her early 20s.
The star, who performed last night at Nova's Red Room powered by Vodafone in Melbourne, went on to explain her doctor raised the subject with her when he suggested she should freeze her eggs.
"Gee, that's a confronting question from a doctor," host David, "Kochie" Koch said.
"I know, I know," Rita said. "But he's been my family doctor for a long time and he said, 'I think you're healthiest now and I think it would be great. Why don't you just put them away now and you never have to worry about it again.'"
The Seven presenter then went on to probe Rita deeper, asking "Did you?"
"I did," she said. "I've never actually said that on TV and I'm 26 so I know people might say, 'wow, that's so young.' I just wanted to really be safe"
Rita has dated a few famous faces, including Bruno Mars, Rob Kardashian, Drake and Calvin Harris.
She's also been linked to megastar Justin Bieber and Gerrard Butler.
The RIP songstress just hosted the 2017 EMAs in London.
