Robert Irwin announces return to reality TV with bizarre video: 'Finally'
The 20-year-old TV personality has thrilled fans with the announcement.
After making his hosting debut on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! earlier this year, Robert Irwin has revealed that he’s already begun filming another reality TV show. The 20-year-old Wildlife Warrior surprised fans on Thursday afternoon when he shared a bizarre video behind the scenes of his latest project.
The clip begins with Robert waking up in his bed while wearing his signature Australia Zoo khaki uniform.
“Do you ever get that strange feeling when you wake up that you’re being watched?” he remarks as he looks around the room.

A boom mic then appears in the frame before he flips the camera to show five people watching him in his bedroom, including a boom operator, lighting technician and cameraman.
“Oh, hey guys,” Robert says as the cameraman tells him to shush.
The video, which has racked up over 770,000 views on Instagram, was posted alongside the caption: “Tell me you do reality TV without telling me. And yes... I sleep in my khakis.”
What reality TV show is Robert filming?
Robert’s followers took to the comments to guess what TV project he might be working on, with many suspecting he and his family are filming the highly-anticipated fifth season of their reality show Crikey! It's the Irwins. The Animal Planet series aired from 2018 to 2022 and follows Terri, Bindi and Robert as they live and work at Australia Zoo.
“A new season of Crikey It's the Irwins? Finally!” one person wrote, while another asked, “Does this mean more episodes are coming!?”.
“Bring back Crikey It’s the Irwins please,” a third remarked, followed by someone else who said, “Please I need it”.
“Ahhh yesss the only reality TV I’m willing to waste my life on,” a different user replied.
Meanwhile, plenty of people were distracted by the fact that Robert appears to sleep in his iconic khaki shirt and shorts. Ellie Gonsalves, who is a global ambassador for Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Warriors charity, even suggested that he release his own line of pyjamas.
“You need to sell Robert Irwin khaki pjs,” she wrote, to which one fan replied, “That’s a brilliant idea!”.
“I would wear them everywhere,” someone else remarked, while another added, “My WHOLE family would have to get those”.
Robert's next reality TV competition
Robert’s hilarious video comes shortly after he told Yahoo Lifestyle that he would love to compete on the US version of Dancing With The Stars, following in the footsteps of his sister Bindi Irwin who won the show in 2015.
“I can wrangle crocs, but can I Paso Doble?” he joked. “It'd be really fun.”

Robert added that if he ever joined the show he’d hope to be paired with professional dancer and TikTok star Rylee Arnold, who competed with fellow Aussie Harry Jowsey on last year’s season and has expressed interest in being paired with Robert.
“I’d want to do Dancing With The Stars with Rylee because she's awesome. That’s been the big discussion,” he remarked. “Let’s manifest doing Dancing With The Stars!”
