Royal Family still adjusting to ‘enormous loss’ of Queen Elizabeth II

One year on from the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Family are reportedly still adjusting to life without her.

A source close to the royal household told PEOPLE, “there is an enormous loss as [the Queen] played a very important part in all of their lives.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla will be spending the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death at Balmoral Castle, “quiety and privately”.

A former palace staffer told the publication “When [the royals] walk into a room, I’m sure they expect [the Queen] to be there. Balmoral was her favourite place in the world, and now will be the time that they reflect on her loss.”

It's believed the Prince and Princess of Wales will be paying a visit to St David's Cathedral to mark the anniversary.

While Prince Harry will also be in the UK on September 8, Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell told The Mirror a meeting between Harry and Charles is “not going to happen.” Burrell claims it will be “impossible” for Harry to see the family, not only because the royal diary is full, but also because “[the royals] gather together in solidarity and they pull the drawbridge up.”
