Rudy Giuliani says he is doing fine after taking a public tumble at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

The former Trump lawyer could be seen falling on the floor of the convention on Tuesday night, in a moment that was caught on live footage and shared on social media.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE on Wednesday, Giuliani spokesperson Ted Goodman said, “Mayor Rudy Giuliani appreciates everyone’s concern after tripping over a dip in the walkway on the convention floor of the convention."

"The mayor and I were both filming footage for his social media and livestream programs on the floor of the convention, when he turned to set some equipment on a chair and tripped over a dip between the walkway and chairs," Goodman added.

"Those falsely suggesting anything else are misleading the public for their own agendas. Anyone who wants to question Mayor Giuliani’s stamina or abilities should check out the half dozen interviews he had just completed before coming over to the convention floor," the statement continued. "The mayor immediately stood up and continued with his jam-packed schedule, collecting video footage and talking with reporters."

The former mayor of New York was recently disbarred in the state over the lies he spread about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election.

On July 2, the First Department of the New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division ruled that Giuliani lost his right to practice law for violating "some of the most fundamental tenets of the legal profession."

Giuliani's close connection with former president Trump, and his attempts to bend the law on Trump's behalf, have led to a near-unraveling of his legal career.

In 2021, a New York appellate court ruled that Giuliani, who served as Trump's personal lawyer during the post-election frenzy, made "demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large" related to the election, in which Trump lost to Biden by about 7 million votes but nonetheless claimed it was rigged.

The court then temporarily suspended Giuliani's law license in New York. Shortly after that, his D.C. law license was temporarily suspended.
