Russia may launch more offensive to expand the frontline along the border at any moment to disperse Ukrainian forces, Ukraine's State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko told Ukrainian TV broadcasters on May 28.

As Demchenko put it, the international border between Ukraine and Russia remains a challenging and dangerous sector.

He noted ongoing efforts to halt the Russian offensive in Kharkiv Oblast, particularly near Lyptsi and Vovchansk. The situation in other parts of the region remains stable, Demchenko said.

"However, we must be prepared for any developments, including on the Sumy front," he added.

"The concentration of enemy forces and resources near our territory suggests that they may attempt to expand the combat zones at any time."

Demchenko previously reported that Russia does not have sufficient forces to achieve strategic objectives in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy Oblast.
