Over the last day, 66 combat engagements took place in various sectors of the frontline, with the Russians continuing in their attempts to encircle Avdiivka, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff said on Nov. 4 in its summary of the previous day’s events.
The report was posted on Facebook on the 619th day of Russia's large-scale aggression against Ukraine.
In the Kupyansk sector, the aggressor conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast, and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk Oblast. Ukrainian defenders repelled about 10 enemy attacks there.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Verkhniokamyanske in Donetsk Oblast.
In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Klishchiyivka, where Ukrainian defenders repelled about 10 attacks. The enemy also conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Bohdanivka and Khromove in Donetsk Oblast.
In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.
In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy, supported by aviation, continues to try to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line and inflicting significant losses on the invading forces. The enemy unsuccessfully conducted offensive actions near the settlements of Stepove, Tonenke, Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomayske in Donetsk Oblast. Here, the Defense Forces repelled about 20 enemy attacks.
In the Maryinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, where Ukrainian troops repelled about 20 enemy attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Staromayorske, Donetsk Oblast.
In the Zaporizhzhya sector, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to regain its lost position near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya Oblast.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
In the Kherson sector, Ukrainian troops are engaged in counter-battery combat, inflicting fire on the enemy's rear.
Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to target civilian targets with multiple launch rocket systems and aircraft.
Over the last day, Russia launched two missiles and 62 air strikes, fired 77 times from multiple rocket launchers at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities. More than 110 settlements came under artillery fire.
Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.
At the same time, Ukrainian aviation carried out nine strikes on clusters of personnel, weapons and military equipment and two on enemy air defense systems.
The missile units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit seven clusters of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, a radar station, two ammunition depots, and ten enemy artillery systems.
