Ryan Seacrest has returned to his morning talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan and broken his silence after fans became concerned for his health when the seasoned host appeared to slur his words while hosting American Idol.
His left eye also suddenly took on a strangely bulging appearance, and when he also missed his usual Live hosting duties on Monday, the worry only grew.
Reps had already issued a statement explaining Ryan had not suffered a stroke, and now the 45-year-old has said it was all due to exhaustion.
“I want to thank Mark for filling in yesterday. I appreciate that,” Ryan said to Kelly Ripa, whose husband Mark Consuelos stepped in to fill the co-host seat.
“He's so good at it. And also the very kind well wishes for my exhaustion. Working round-the-clock so I got a day off to relax. And here we are once again at it on Live.”
Fans were clearly relieved to see Ryan back on their screens leaving well wishes in the comments on the pair’s Instagram account.
“I’m so happy to see you Ryan. Thankful you’re ok! Now SLOW DOWN! Take care of yourself!” one fan wrote.
“So happy that Ryan is ok and rested, needs to slow down and enjoy life more!! You work too hard Ryan,” another said.
“Ryan. So glad to see you feeling well,” a third wrote, while a fourth person added: “Ryan looks so tired.”
A representative for the star told People in a statement on Monday that Ryan didn’t suffer a stroke and he just needed to take some time off.
“Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night,” the spokesperson wrote.
“Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home.
“Between Live with Kelly and Ryan, American Idol, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off."
