Sadie Roberston says she was 'warned that having a baby would change everything': People 'said it like that was a negative thing'

Sadie Robertson says parenting has been an overwhelmingly positive experience.

The Duck Dynasty alum welcomed her first child — a baby girl named Honey James — with her husband Christian Huff earlier this year. On Wednesday, she shared a sweet photo of herself holding Honey to Instagram, writing in the caption, “People warned us that having a baby would change everything… which is true but they were completely wrong when they said it like that was a negative thing! From the wise words of Hannah Montana, ‘life’s what you make it so let’s make it rock.’”

Robertson received plenty of love on the pic, including a comment from her husband, who wrote, “Thankful for you two and Hannah’s wisdom.” The Bachelor’s Madison Prewett added, “Yes with the Hannah Montana reference,” while her mom Korie Robertson simply added, “Truth!!!!”

The Dancing With the Stars runner-up has previously spoken about her parenting journey. She recently told E! News of her little one, who was born this past May, “I'm like, 'Stay this little forever!' I just love it. Honestly, she just started holding her bottle by herself and I was so proud. It's just the little milestones and the day-to-day things that make me so proud and just so happy to be her mom."

She and Huff are also planning to expand their family, and give Honey either three or four siblings. As Robertson has three siblings who joined the family via adoption herself, she told the outlet that is one avenue they’re hoping to explore, telling E! News, “I've just seen the beauty of it, what a blended family can look like from adoption.”

Recently, the reality star opened up on Instagram about raising her child to live without fear. She captioned a black and white photo of the family: “When she wakes up in the middle of the night crying the first thing I do is walk to her crib pick her up and say, ‘it’s okay mamas got you.’ One day she will walk into school for the first time and her dad will hold her hand and say, ‘it’s okay I’m going to walk in with you.’ When she jumps into a pool for the first time we will say, ‘don’t worry I will catch you.’”
