Sarah Jessica Parker Wore a Pair of Her Most Surprising Jeans Yet

Sarah Jessica Parker is apparently using this strange time to experiment with so many long-forgotten trends. Perhaps, like the rest of us, she's had an excess amount of time to reorganize her closet one hundred times and has discovered some old gems in the process. Or maybe her recent venture into gray denim and tall glitter boots paired with cargo pants is a way to dip her toes into controversial trends without having to worry about too many people seeing her.
While visiting her favorite place, the SJP shoe flagship store in Manhattan, Parker matched her glitter blazer to her glitter ankle boots. Yet even with a lace face mask, none of those pieces were the main talking point. Instead that honor was bestowed upon her jeans, which featured faded stripes.
Striped denim isn't something we see much of these days. Personally, the thought of striped denim brings me back to middle school in the '90s and an old pair of stripe denim overalls my mom dressed me up in. The trend's resurgence, though, fits perfectly with the current statement pants narrative.
Designers like Eckhaus Latta and Collina Strada have been making quirky denim, tie-dyed and adorned with floral illustrations, mainstream. Striped denim is a more affordable way of achieving a similar, albeit more subtle, look while still giving your favorite pair of jeans a rest. And it's SJP-approved, which is the biggest blessing of all.
