A loose panel in the SCG roof is believed to have forced a delay to the start of the Sydney derby Big Bash double-header by at least half an hour.
Play in the WBBL clash between the Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder was delayed after the toss on Saturday when gates remained close due to a "venue issue".
It's understood a panel in one of either the roof of the Bradman or Noble Stands was loose, and had to be fixed before gates were opened to spectators.
If play doesn't get underway by 3.20pm, overs could be lost.
But at this stage it's expected the delay won't push back the start of the following match at 7.20pm.
Earlier, the first-placed Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first against the third-placed Thunder.
