Watch: Trailer for Pam & Tommy
Sebastian Stan has received criticism for tagging Pamela Anderson's official Instagram page in a post celebrating the Emmy nominations for TV series Pam & Tommy.
The series, which aired in the UK via the Star section of Disney+, follows the events around the infamous leaked sex tape featuring Baywatch actor Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.

Anderson was not consulted about the series going ahead and a source said before the show launched that she felt "violated" by her trauma being used as the centre of a TV drama.
With that in mind, Anderson's fans were shocked when Stan — who plays Lee in the series alongside Lily James as Anderson — tagged both Anderson and Lee in his Instagram post.
Pam & Tommy was nominated for 10 Emmy Awards this week, including recognition for both Stan and James in the acting categories.
At the end of a lengthy caption discussing the awards nominations and the cast and crew involved, Stan wrote: "#PAMANDTOMMY is about a crime that took place without consent".

He added: "It was a crime on privacy, a crime on love, a crime on family, and a crime that we were ALL a culprit of, as media and audience combined, and it’s now more timely than ever.
"I hope this can only help continue the conversation we had hoped to bring to light, and that we can remember to re-examine our projections and our salacious attitudes not only towards @pamelaanderson and @tommylee, but also towards ourselves and our exploitation of one another."
Social media users were quick to pull Stan up on his decision to tag Anderson in the post while talking about consent, given she did not consent to the show being made.
One user referred to Stan's actions as "disgusting", adding that it was "so gross" for him to directly alert Anderson to his post.
Ew so disgusting that Sebastian Stan tagged Pamela Anderson about how the show got nominated when he knows the show was made without her CONSENT. So gross.

I just want to know where Sebastian Stan found the audacity to tag Pamela Anderson in his Emmy’s post after writing a whole essay about consent when she has been incredibly vocal about how she never wanted the series made

crazy how sebastian stan can write four paragraphs on how pam and tommy is a show about consent and then in that same post celebrates his drinking buddy tommy and tags pamela anderson whose expressed how traumatic she finds the show

Pam & Tommy was released in February and, over eight parts, told the story of the marriage between Anderson and Lee, as well as the events which caused their sex tape to become public,
I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie took up the director's chair and the series received praise for its uncanny transformations, particularly in the case of Lily James.
Anderson, meanwhile, announced that she is set to make a documentary with Netflix in order to depict her take on her life story.
She said: "My life. A thousand imperfections. A million misperceptions. Wicked, wild and lost. Nothing to live up to. I can only surprise you. Not a victim, but a survivor. And alive to tell the real story."
