A Californian bride’s unique wedding look has sparked mixed reactions online after it was alternatively praised for its bold look, and compared to a ‘huge a** doily’.

A set of mirror selfies advertising the dress were spotted on buy, swap, and sell platform, Facebook Marketplace, then republished to a wedding shaming group where opinions came in thick and fast.

The advertisement from the American woman shows a floor-length two-piece ensemble featuring a skirt of a mixture of tulle and chunky crochet that leaves the upper legs and underpants exposed.

The daring bottom half is complimented by a plunging jacket in the same material, that swoops into hanging sleeves, and is belted with a crocodile leather ringed belt.

The original post to Marketplace described it as a “mesh and vinyl pattern stitched skirt and jacket”, and advertised the ensemble as perfect for a Burning Man music festival wedding.

Compared to many a wedding gown the look is reasonably priced at just US$380, and is still available for anyone who dare bare all on their big day.

Opinion split

Commentators were divided over the pre-loved bargain, some loving the two piece extravaganza, others struggling to express their extreme dislike.

“Looks like her grandma crocheted it and hemmed it with the kitchen curtains...” one wrote.

“That’s a huge ass doily, my god...” another wrote.

Another simply shared a variety of doily images for comparison.

On the other hand, plenty of commentators couldn’t get enough of the unique look.

“I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but I love it?” one wrote.

“Ughhh...why do I like this?!?!?!” another demanded.
