A skinny house that’s barely wider than a double decker bus has gone up for sale in London for £750,000.

The unusual two-bedroom home on Queens Road in the sought after 'Royals' area of South West London, may be narrow, but it sure packs a lot into the modest space.  

A look at the floor plan reveals one of the reception rooms to be 2.23m in width, which is a little skinnier than a double decker bus at 2.44m wide.

But what it lacks in width, the unique cottage certainly makes up for in height, with three floors and some super smart, space-enhancing interiors.

Offering a light, airy split-level living space, the house has two quirky bedrooms, a living area and an Insta-worthy kitchen. 

The description on Zoopla reveals that the private front door opens onto stairs, which lead immediately up to a raised kitchen/breakfast room with eating area, storage and an open view through to the compact back reception room.

There is also a cosy sitting/TV area with bi-folding doors leading onto the impressive garden.The first floor is home to a bedroom, bathroom and double bedroom with fitted wardrobes.

Further covetable features include exposed brick work, outside storage, a recently refitted shower room, kitchen snug, skylight lanterns and period-style sash windows as well as practical double glazing and gas central heating.

One unique part of the house is a high-level bookcase accessed via wheeled library ladder.

The current owners have also used other clever tricks to make the most of the narrow footprint, building a table into a hallway space and using floor-to-ceiling storage and a sliding door on the bathroom. 

The private rear garden is described as being “thoughtfully landscaped to create a tranquil, relaxing and sunny retreat offering seating areas and a covered 'natural' pergola.”

Located in a sought-after part of London, the home has great access to Mortlake station and quick links to the city centre.

The home is also close to Richmond Park and the River Thames - an ideal location for those who want a more tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

"The star of the show is undoubtedly the landscaped rear garden, which has plenty of lush foliage and a secluded seating area.”

The home is currently for sale via Sceon + Berne and will no doubt garner plenty of interest.

It isn't the only skinny home that has caused a stir recently. Last year a house believed to be the narrowest in London went on sale for an impressive £1million. 

The unusual property on Goldhawk Road in Shepherd’s Bush, West London, may be just 5ft 5in wide, but certainly makes up for its lack of width with five floors of swish interiors.

Offering two bedrooms, an Insta-impressive kitchen, dining room and bathroom, as well as a roof terrace with views over West London and a leafy garden to the rear, the unique house was once owned by fashion photographer Juergen Teller but was sold on in 2009.

More recently, a two-bedroom home, believed to be the smallest detached house in Britain, went on sale for £140,000.

The unique property in Nottingham is spread over two floors and includes a freestanding roll top bath, loft space and side access to a back garden and patio area and packs a lot into its small footprint. 

Whats more, property hunters back in April could have nabbed themselves a bit of a bargain as the house was available for £243,000 less than the average UK detached home, which is usually priced at £383,000, and £44,000 cheaper than a standard terraced property.

It seems when it comes to property skinny could be the way forward.
