Social Media Users Don't Know How To Feel About Biden Wearing A Trump Hat
President Joe Biden was photographed wearing a “Trump 2024” hat, and it’s drawing mixed reactions from both Democrats and the MAGA faithful.
The president briefly put the red cap over his own while visiting a firehouse in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
The Trump campaign posted a photo of Biden wearing the hat on social media, forcing White House spokesperson Andrew Bates to provide additional context.
“At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country’s bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that.”
“As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit, POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it.”

Video footage from the event shows Biden playfully bantering with a Trump supporter, making jokes about both of them being old.
After Biden autographed a hat for the man, the Trump supporter asked the president if he wanted his own John Hancock in return.
Biden hilariously barked, “Hell no!”
There we go. Biden is acting cool. Even when the guy calls him an old fart. The U.S. President is taking the MAGA hat and reminding the people of not eating dogs and cats. He’s joking about Trump. And definitely not a Trump fan. pic.twitter.com/UsjM0tdUvn

Considering that Biden has reportedly referred to Trump in private as a “sick fuck,” the fact that he put on his political opponent’s hat inspired divided opinions on social media.
Some found the exchange positive and gave Biden props for being a good sport with a “slightly hostile crowd.”
This is what America should be. This man was able to jokingly insult the sitting President and banter a little without having to worry, both had a good time, even if they don’t agree

Joe is such a good man, and he showed that Trump supporter so much grace and kindness. I guarantee that man has said some pretty terrible things about Biden, yet Biden showed him nothing but respect.

Biden putting on a MAGA hat and joking with a Trump supporter highlights his attempt to reach across divides with humor. The right-wing lunatics, of course, are losing it over a harmless joke, but it shows Biden’s willingness to engage without the usual hostility. It’s the kind…

This is a pretty funny exchange here. Biden handled it well.

🤷♂️ I gotta say, kudos to Joe. He was a good sport with a slightly hostile crowd. That seems a bit out of the ordinary for him.

Yeah, it's a nice little moment! A guy can dunk on the president and nothing bad happens, they just riff for a minute.

A few Biden critics gave him points for the exchange despite clearly disliking the president.
:: Puts the Trump hat on ::
“Now remember, don’t eat dogs and cats.”
I hate his policies, but, point for Biden.

Am I wrong for saying I found this to be adorable? I know he's destroying the country, but come on, this is adorable 😂

In all honesty, as much I don't like him and I think he needs help, this was actually fairly genuine and funny.
Truly this was a funny side to Biden.— Mickamious (@MickamiousG) September 12, 2024
Humanizing exchange and Biden knew the jokes and played along…
Putting on the hat and referencing the cats and dogs was possibly deliberate
He could somewhat redeem himself if he called out his party
Ffs, Dems love the Cheneys now so ANYTHING is possible 🤣😭— WhoRepresentsMe (@WhoRepresentsU) September 12, 2024
Others insisted that Biden’s gesture was a Democratic self-own.
Biden either has no clue what’s going on or he really hates Kamala that much.

He did it, he actually did it. I'm not even sure Biden understood what he was doing, but I'm now convinced he did actually put on a Trump hat. Too many different videos from too many different angles.
Kamala is cringing, and I'm here for it.

So he took away that poor man's Trump hat? lol
Funny seeing him smile when people cheered him on.
Considering the only reason people were cheering him on, was for putting on a Trump hat.😄— Enough Places To Hide (@NuffPlaces2Hide) September 12, 2024
And some people gave Biden credit, but called his bipartisan gesture “a gift for the Trump campaign.”
Yeah, he just seems like a nice old guy at this point.
He handled the situation pretty well but putting on the Trump hat was a gift for the Trump campaign.— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) September 12, 2024
I’m waiting for the right wing memes saying that Joe Biden now supports Donald Trump. Just like the fake Taylor Swift AI "endorsements" this will backfire too.
This clip only makes us realize how much we’re going to miss Joe Biden and his ability to reach across the aisle. By…— urban myths, legends (@urbanmyths) September 12, 2024
