Sony PlayStation 5 to launch in November

2020 may end in a showdown between Microsoft and Sony.

The latter on Thursday (September 17) announced its next-generation PlayStation 5 console will launch in November.

It will go on sale at nearly 500 dollars.

Or just under 400 for a version without a disk drive.

Consumers continue to flock to gaming optimised consoles offering exclusive titles.

Sony has released a promotional video showcasing some of the new console's graphics.

"The content we've curated for today's event showcases how PS5 has inspired developers to create new experiences that are transformative in how they look, sound, and feel.

Upcoming titles unveiled for the console include a new "God of War" title.

As well as a "Harry Potter" role-playing game.

The PlayStation 5 will go on sale on November 12th in markets including the U.S., Japan and Canada.

With a release in other countries on November 19th.

Microsoft said last week its Xbox Series X would go on sale on November 10th.

Gaming industry revenues have been on a tear among consumers staying home, helping drive up Sony’s shares by 46% since its March lows.
