Station 19 to End With Season 7 at ABC
Station 19 is saying goodbye: The upcoming seventh season of the ABC firefighter drama will be its last, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Deadline first reported the news.) The early decision will “allow producers to craft a proper ending” for the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.
“For seven seasons, Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich said in a statement. “With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”

Debuting in 2018, Station 19 still has six of its original cast members: Jaina Lee Ortiz (Andy Herrera), Jason George (Ben Warren), Grey Damon (Jack Gibson), Barrett Doss (Vic Hughes), Jay Hayden (Travis Montgomery) and Danielle Savre (Maya Bishop). The current cast also includes Boris Kodjoe (Robert Sullivan), Stefania Spampinato (Dr. Carina DeLuca) and Carlos Miranda (Theo Ruiz). It was renewed for Season 7 in April, with Zoanne Clack and Peter Paige taking over as co-showrunners from previous boss Krista Vernoff. As noted above, the drama will air its 100th episode during the 10-episode Season 7, which debuts Thursday, Mar. 14 at 10/9c.
Last season, Station 19 averaged 5.2 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating, down 15 and 22 percent from its Season 5 numbers. Out of the 10 dramas that ABC aired last season, it ranked fifth in total audience but tied The Rookie for No. 2 in the demo (trailing only Grey’s Anatomy).
