Maps show where high winds will continue as Storm Ashley causes disruption
Met Office warnings remain in place for some areas on Monday after the first named storm of the season arrived.
Storm Ashley has caused disruption over the weekend as high winds and rain battered parts of the UK - with weather warnings still in place for Sunday night and Monday.
On Sunday various ferry crossings in Scotland were cancelled due to adverse conditions at sea caused by the high winds, while ScotRail said services would be subject to "precautionary speed restrictions" from 4pm on Sunday until Monday morning for services in the west and north Highlands, Ayrshire and Stranraer.

Winds are expected to ease on Monday with rain moving into the South East, while the north is expected to remain blustery for much of the week.
London and the South-East
Monday
Cloudy morning with rain possible across Kent and Sussex, but soon easing away. Dry elsewhere. Sunny spells then developing from the west, although the odd shower cannot be ruled out. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
Sunny spells and mostly dry Tuesday, perhaps the odd shower later. Mist and fog at first on Wednesday and Thursday morning, followed by sunshine. Temperatures around average for October.
South-West
Monday
A scattering of showers in the southwest, occasionally heavy through the Bristol channel, but interspersed with plenty of warm sunshine. Brighter in the east, with winds lighter than on Sunday. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
Sunny spells and scattered showers in the southwest on Tuesday, then turning drier and more settled on Wednesday. By Thursday, rather cloudy and increasingly breezy. Mild for late October.
Midlands
Monday
East Midlands: A bright day with plenty of sunny spells, although the occasional light shower may develop in the afternoon. It will feel breezy at times, especially across the Peak District. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
West Midlands: Dry and more settled at first, with sunny spells and easing winds. Scattered showers developing in the west by late morning, spreading eastwards and turning heavier through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
East Midlands: Sunny spells and outbreaks of showery rain Tuesday. Perhaps some mist and fog at first Wednesday and Thursday morning, followed by sunshine. Temperatures around average for October.
West Midlands: Unsettled on Tuesday, with further scattered showers, at times heavy, interspersed with sunny spells. Showers becoming isolated on Wednesday, though turning breezier and cloudier by Thursday. Mild for late October.
North-East
Monday
Blustery winds with sunny spells and scattered cloud, along with the occasional shower. Showers may become more frequent later in the afternoon. Winds easing overnight. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
Plenty of bright spells through this period, with a few showers possible, most likely on Tuesday. Winds lighter than in recent days, though perhaps becoming breezy on Wednesday.

North-West

A changeable day with a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers. Winds considerably lighter than on Sunday, though still gusty at times in any heavier downpours. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
Remaining unsettled through Tuesday and Wednesday with further showers, occasionally heavy, interspersed with brighter interludes. Drier but cloudier on Thursday, and rather breezy at times. Feeling mild for late October.
Scotland
Monday
Mainly dry and bright with just a few showers. Clouding over from the west in the afternoon, with showers becoming more widespread later on. Strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
In the Highlands, some sunshine and blustery showers, most frequent, heavier in the west. Strong southwest winds with gales at first in northwest. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

More settled than Sunday, with sunny spells and a sprinkling of showers, these heaviest in the south. Generally light winds, however breezy at times along coasts and over high ground. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tuesday-Thursday
A mixture of sunshine and showers through the coming days, these heaviest and most widespread on Tuesday. Turning cloudier from Wednesday, with winds steadily strengthening through Thursday.
