Royal fans have been happily buzzing about Princess Beatrice's surprise wedding ceremony to Edo Mapelli Mozzi for a few days now, with new pictures still continuously being shared with the general public. But given the current coronavirus-related restrictive guidelines, it's likely that many of the wider royal family weren't in attendance on the big day, including Beatrice's cousin, Prince William, and his wife Kate Middleton.

However, that doesn't mean the couple haven't commented on the happy occasion – in fact, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose to share a very sweet message on their official Kensington Royal Instagram account. They also retweeted a congratulatory tweet from the Royal Family's Twitter account.

As for their personal post, William and Kate chose to share one of the official portraits from the big day to their Instagram Stories, showing Beatrice and Edo standing outside the Royal Lodge's chapel with The Queen and Prince Philip.

Prince William and Kate (or perhaps a member of their social media team) also added a sweet 'Just Married' GIF to the image, and captioned it: "Congratulations to HRH Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi who were married in a small private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor on Friday!".

On the subject of the number of guests in attendance, the palace previously announced: "The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family. The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines." It's thought that if William and Kate had been there too, that they'd have been mentioned in this statement.

Many have also been speculating over whether or not Beatrice and Eugenie's father Prince Andrew would be able to attend the wedding, given his current on-going scandal involving his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, and allegations that he slept with a teenager, Virginia Roberts Giuffre (something the Prince has repeatedly denied). Reports however, seem to confirm that not only did Andrew attend, but he walked his eldest daughter down the aisle.

Judging from the gorgeous pictures, in which Beatrice is absolutely *glowing* with happiness, it looks as though the couple's day was just perfect – COVID-19 rules and all. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
