The 'Anyone But You' star appears on the December cover of 'Men’s Health'
Glen Powell’s sexy Men’s Health cover shoot has made quite an impression on fans and friends alike.
After Powell, 35, posted the cover on Instagram Tuesday along with the cheeky caption, “You know they have to spray tan EVERYWHERE before these things, right?,” Sydney Sweeney, 26, his costar in the upcoming romantic comedy Anyone But You quipped in a comment, “just heating up everybody’s winter, huh?”
In the accompanying interview, Powell opened up to Men’s Health about everything from his rising fame to workout routine to how the false rumors of a romance with Sweeney affected him.
Powell split from girlfriend Gigi Paris earlier this year shortly after he and Sweeney filmed the movie in Australia. The timing, as well as photos from the set showing the two stars’ chemistry, led to online speculation that they were an item.
At the time, a source told PEOPLE that Powell and Sweeney, who is engaged to Jonathan Davino, were simply “friends who met on set.”
Powell, for one, wasn’t a fan of the gossip. “When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair," he told the magazine. "But what I’m realizing is that’s just a part of this gig now.”
In Anyone But You, Powell and Sweeney play former college rivals who reunite years later at a destination wedding and pretend to be a couple. Sweeney previously said that she and Powell “don’t really care” about the talk.
“It’s a rom-com! That’s what people want,” she told Variety in August.
While promoting the movie, Powell told Men’s Health all about his workout routine that helped get him in cover shoot shape.
“Recently I’ve gotten into Pilates and yoga — not because I love it but because it’s a great little social scene, and then also you end up working muscles you’ve never worked before,” he said.
Pilates has even changed his body in an unexpected way, the Top Gun: Maverick star joked: “I tried Pilates and there’s a dimple in my ass that I have never seen before, and it is great. Real crowd-pleaser that dimple.”
When it comes to food, he’s not one for dieting. “I come from a family of eaters, so if you made me, like, truly diet, I think I’d be pretty grumpy. You don’t want to be around grumpy Glen. It’s not good,” he said.
Anyone But You is in theaters Dec. 22.
