Sydney Sweeney Wore A Sheer Schiaparelli Dress To Her Latest Film Premiere
Sydney Sweeney went sheer for the premiere of her new film, Reality, in New York last night. The star arrived in a black strapless gown from Schiaparelli’s spring 2023 haute couture collection, featuring see-through panels down the length of the dress. Designed by Daniel Roseberry, the elegant yet sultry look had ruffles, black silk chiffon, cotton tulle, and a black velvet trim. Sweeney styled her hair down in stringy waves and wore thick black liner to complete her beauty look.
In Reality, Sweeney stars as Reality Winner, the former American intelligence specialist who leaked a classified government report on Russian interference in the 2016 election to a news outlet. The film takes place over a single day in 2017, when FBI agents confront Reality at her home to ask her about mishandling sensitive information. The script is taken directly from the real-life transcript of their conversation. It’s directed by Tina Satter and adapted from her off-Broadway play Is This a Room. Reality premieres Monday, May 29 at 10 P.M. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max.
This is just one of Sweeney’s many projects ahead, including the Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web, a Barbarella remake, and the rom-com Anyone But You co-starring Glen Powell. And let’s not forget about a third season of Euphoria somewhere on the horizon. If her jam-packed slate surprises you, just know Sweeney previously told ELLE about how hard she’s working to make her dreams, well, a reality (get it?).
“In high school, whenever I’d go home [between filming], I would feel so insecure and judged,” she said in our November 2022 issue. “People would be like, ‘So have you done anything? When are you gonna get a real job?’ Or ‘When are you just gonna come home and get married and have a real life?’ And I knew that if I ever gave up on my dream, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. I wasn’t going to allow myself to quit, and allow people to tell me that I’m not good enough or I wasn’t going to make it. I was just going to keep working as hard as I possibly could to achieve my dreams.”
