Tarek El Moussa says his photo of "Bittersweet Lane" was not about his ex-wife Christina Hall’s divorce.

The HGTV star, who shared an image of a sign bearing the unusual street name over the weekend, clarified his message in a follow-up in his Instagram Stories on Monday, July 22.

“This has nothing to do with Christina,” he wrote. “I was on a walk looking at cool houses and found the street name neat and wanted to share. Please stop sending me nasty messages. Thank you T.”

Tarek posted the photo without comment while visiting the Hamptons with wife Heather El Moussa before an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark in New York City on Monday.

The Flipping El Moussas star posted the street sign five days after PEOPLE confirmed Christina's husband, Josh Hall, had filed for divorce. Tarek has not publicly addressed their split.

Christina and Josh’s divorce had fans wondering about the fate of The Flip Off, the recently announced HGTV series, in which the now-estranged couple would compete with Tarek and Heather.

On Tuesday, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that filming of the show had resumed without Josh. HGTV has not yet released a statement about the status of his role on the series.

Christina and Tarek, who ended their seven-year marriage in 2016, share two children, daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. Christina also shares son Hudson, 4, with her second husband, Ant Anstead. Tarek and Heather welcomed a son, Tristan, in 2023.

Tarek and Christina have navigated co-parenting, new marriages and public disagreements in the years since their divorce.

A blow-up on the set of Flip or Flop made news in 2021 after Tarek reportedly compared Christina to his then-fiancée Heather and referred to her as a "washed-up loser." He later apologized for his remarks.

The two couples also had a dispute at one of Brayden's soccer games, which they later poked fun at in a promotional video for The Flip Off.

More recently, the foursome have appeared to be on friendly terms. In January, Tarek told PEOPLE his relationship with Christina is “better than it's been ever, since the separation."

The Flip Off, scheduled to premiere in 2025, marks Tarek and Christina’s first onscreen reunion after Flip or Flop ended after nine years in March 2022..

Josh officially filed for divorce from Christina on July 15, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE. A source close to Christina confirmed that she is also filing.

According to the documents, Josh requested a dissolution of marriage due to "irreconcilable differences" nearly three years after the pair secretly tied the knot in a courthouse ceremony on Oct. 6, 2021. They later celebrated their nuptials in another wedding ceremony in Hawaii in September 2022

Since HGTV announced The Flip Off on May 15, the two couples had been releasing playful promos to tease the show, though Josh only appeared in a few.

One cheeky skit featured Christina and Heather jokingly cursing in each other’s faces, while another saw Tarek mistaking Christina for Heather in a nod to how fans often point out a resemblance between the two women.

Josh filmed a short clip with Christina, Tarek and Heather in May, and joined Tarek for a couple of videos, including a spoof of the 2008 film Step Brothers that was shared via Instagram on June 13.
