Teacher jailed for having sex with student ‘joked about horny pupils’

A former teacher who was recently jailed for raping and harassing a 14-year-old student made twisted jokes about the disturbing situation with friends, sources have revealed.

Fatinah Hossain, 25, will spend more than five years in prison, after she pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and one count of sexual activity with the boy while in a position of trust.

The 25-year-old was a teaching assistant at a school, when she became infatuated with a pupil, Sussex Police said in a statement on October 22.

"Hossain was first arrested in June 2020 following a report that she had groomed and had sex with a 14-year-old boy from a school in Horsham where she was working as a study supervisor/cover teacher," Detective Constable Leigh Rankin said.

"A sexual relationship continued for several months during which she continued to manipulate the boy's emotions, including claiming that she was pregnant after he had tried to end the relationship."

'Relentless' campaign against victim's family

After Hossain was released on bail, her victim, his family and friends were subject to a "prolonged and complex campaign of behaviour against them", seemingly to derail the investigation, police said.

"Using fake social media accounts Hossain attempted to manipulate other children, with threats being made against at least one other child should they speak to the police," Det Const Rankin said.

"Through fake names she made significant threats of harm to the boy and his family and said she’d pay him to 'drop the charges'."

The judge said said Hossain had "embarked on quite a remarkable campaign of harassment" and described it as "relentless, wide-ranging and malicious”.

After being charged in October 2020, Hossain used social media accounts under different names, including one profile where she pretended to be a 14-year-old girl, to fabricate messages between her and an adult member of a victim's family.

Det Const Rankin said she used the accounts in an attempt to have the family member lose his job.

She then made false reports to the police from more fake accounts, in an attempt to get the family member arrested.

The false police reports continued until March this year, when evidence proved she was the one behind the allegations.

Source claims teacher's aid 'joked' about students

According to The Sun, Hossain "joked" with friends and said boys in her class flirted with her, while she reportedly referred to them as "hormonal and horny teenage boys".

"It's disgusting looking back now knowing what she then did," the source who reportedly knew Hossain told The Sun.

"She had a manipulative trait and could also be hot headed, especially if she felt under attack. She seemed sexually naive at times."

In addition to being sentenced to five years and four months in prison, Hossain will be registered as a sex offender, indefinitely. She will also be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order after being released from prison.

She is prohibited from making contact with the initial victim and several others, and is barred from entering specified areas of Horsham, due to a restraining order.
