Teen's surprising reaction towards friend that pushed her off bridge

A teen who went viral after she was filmed being pushed off a bridge by her friend has spoken about her horrific injuries and has surprisingly revealed that she thinks prison “may be too harsh” for her attacker.

Jordan Holgerson, then 16, was filmed being pushed off an 18-metre high bridge at Moulton Falls northeast of Vancouver in August 2017.

Her friend, identified as then 18-year-old Taylor Smith, was blamed for pushing her while Ms Holgerson received six broken ribs and two punctured lungs.

Ms Smith has apologised but Jordan told NBC last year she wanted the teen to go to jail.

Ms Smith was charged with reckless endangerment.

Genelle Hodgson, Ms Holgerson’s mum, said Ms Smith had reached a plea deal with prosecutors which they are pleased with. The deal hasn’t been made public.

Ms Smith fronted court in December but the case was adjourned until February.

Ms Holgerson told Today she’s now unsure whether she wants Ms Smith to go to prison.

“Certain days I kind of want her to be put in jail but some days I think that might be a little too harsh,” she told Today.

“So, in court I was kind of hoping for justice and her being sentenced and everything just kind of being over because it’s been a long process.”
