Tennis pro has pitch perfect response to misogynistic reaction after her pregnancy announcement

Tennis pro Naomi Osaka just threw one hell of a serve (see what we did there?) back at misogynists who expressed "concern" for her online following her recent pregnancy announcement.

ICYMI, earlier this year the four-time Grand Slam winner took to Twitter to announce that she's expecting her first child. "Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023," Naomi tweeted alongside a photo of herself at an ultrasound scan.

"I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future," she went on. "One thing I'm looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom'."

Elsewhere in the post, Naomi commented on how the time she's spent away from the tennis court during her pregnancy has given her a new outlook on her beloved sport – something which some people on the internet have latched on to.

Responding to the misogynistic comments targeted towards her since announcing her pregnancy, Naomi this week said on Twitter: "To the people that are suddenly concerned about my career – there are plenty of male athletes with kids that are significantly less accomplished, you might wanna worry about them instead."

She continued: "Thanks for the concern, might wanna redirect it to someone that needs it though." Naomi's tweet has so far been viewed on Twitter more than 2.6 million times and has racked up over 50 thousand likes.

"Chew them up girly," one person said in response to Naomi's brilliant shut down, as someone else tweeted: "Period. They never ask men how they juggle their family life and careers and how hard it must be. But for some reason women are always asked that!"

In a follow up tweet, Naomi wrote: "Not trying to make this a male and female thing but let’s be fr."
