Texas Man Kills 2 Children, Their Mother, Before Turning Gun on Himself: Police
Police were called to the Amarillo, Texas, home on Sept. 7, where they found the bodies of two adults and two children
A Texas man fatally shot his two children and their mother before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.
On Sept. 7, at about 6:30 p.m., officers were called to a home in Amarillo after receiving a 911 call from a family member who made the grim discovery, according to an Amarillo Police Department press release obtained by PEOPLE. There, officers found two adults and two children dead inside the home.
Police said Jessica Rose Olmos, 33, and her two children suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe the other adult, Jose David Olmos, 42, shot his family before dying by suicide, per the release.

The names of the children have not been shared by police. An Amarillo police spokesperson told PEOPLE the department does not release the names of juvenile victims and did not confirm the names to other news outlets.
Police said the case is being investigated by the APD Homicide Unit and remains ongoing.
