The Block's Paige and Jesse secretly tie the knot in Paris: 'Special'

It’s been quite the year for Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire, who not only made history when they became the first team to quit The Block partway through but also recently decided to call off their wedding. While their relationship was put to the test on the renovation reality show and many viewers assumed they have since broken up, the couple have now shared a major update with their followers.

Taking to social media on Monday evening, Paige and Jesse announced they had gotten married in Paris. The Perth-based couple shared a photo of themselves dressed in their wedding attire as they posted inside the Ritz Paris, a 5-star luxury hotel.

Jesse looked smart in a classic black tuxedo from InStitchu, and she wore a gorgeous white gown and veil with lace trim.

“Husband and Wife ♥️” she captioned the post while tagging the brands Cartier, Boss and Chanel Beauty. She also tagged The Paris Celebrants and Le Bateau Français, suggesting they officially tied the knot on the Seine.

Paige reveals why they decided to elope

Speaking exclusively to Yahoo Lifestyle, Paige revealed the sweet reason why she and Jesse decided to elope in Paris after initially postponing their wedding in Australia, which was scheduled for December 12.

“Eloping felt like the most authentic way to celebrate our love and this commitment we were both ready to make to one another. A way to focus on what truly matters,” she shared.

“Paris holds a special place in our relationship - it’s a city we like to visit often, it’s a city that is intimate, timeless and romantic, and it made for the ideal setting to begin this chapter in such a special way. And it’s not too bad having a reason to head back for every anniversary.”

Jesse and Paige have been together for seven years and announced their engagement on social media in April 2022. The couple, who bought their first house together five years ago, met when Jesse was celebrating his rugby grand final win and Paige was enjoying a night out with a friend.

“I chased her down the street and I said, ‘Can I please have your number? I really want to take you out,” Jesse told Domain. “The rest is history.”

Paige and Jesse’s wedding post was quickly flooded with supportive comments from their Block co-stars, including Kylie Baker who wrote: “Omg Stop!!!! 🔥❤️🙌”

“Congrats guys!! This is iconic 😮‍💨🥹🤍” Mimi Belperio added, followed by Courtney Freeman who said, “Oh my 😍 congratulations. So happy for you two and what a beautiful photo. STUNNNNNING”.

Jesse’s mother Allison also took to the comments, writing: “To my handsome gorgeous son and my amazing beautiful new daughter-in-law, I am truly thrilled for you both. Welcome to our family Paige I could not ask for a better wife for my son. I wish you both all the happiness and love in the world, you both are everything to me and our family.”
